There are five basic Data Types used on Excel worksheets, which are as follows: 1) Numeric; 2) String; 3) Dates; 4) Logical; and 5) Error.  Understanding how to utilize each of the 5 Data Types will significantly improve your ability to manipulate numbers, text, make logical comparison and other critical skills.  Obviously we spend most of our time discuss the numeric data types, both integers and complex or whole numbers.  That said, there are an amazing different ways to manipulate strings or character strings that we briefly delve into.  Get a basic foundation of Excel’s various Data Types and move your Excel skills forward.
